The Hauki Dish Cloths from Marimekko feature designer Sanna Annukka’s graphic interpretation of mountains and fish. Each towel is made from cellulose material, making them extremely durable and absorbent. The cheerfully printed cloths are efficient for cleaning countertops and dishes, and provide a colorful accent when hung on a hook or through an oven handle. When the cloths are dirty, they can be cleaned in a washing machine and sanitized in a microwave for repeated use. Because the cloths are made of cellulose, they are compostable and biodegradable, making them a much more environmentally conscious choice than paper towels.
Includes 2 cloths.

Sanna Annukka has created a series of expressive designs full of meaning, telling stories from the Finnish national epic, the Kalevala. The Kanteleen kutsu fabric depicts forest animals that have, enchanted, gathered to hear the joyful tunes played on the kantele, a plucked string instrument, by Väinämöinen, the main character of the Kalevala. Väinämöinen had made his instrument from the jawbone of a giant pike. The Sampo, a wealth grinding magic mill, is featured in the impressive Taikamylly fabric. The Ihmemaa art print, sold by the repeat, shows the landscape of Kaleva, the Land of Heroes, and Lake Alue, in whose depths a whitefish has swallowed fire fallen from the heavens.
Founded in 1951 by Armi Ratia and her husband, Viljo, Marimekko is a Finnish company that designs and manufactures high-quality fabrics and tableware, as well as clothing, bags, and other accessories. Characterized by saturated colors and bold patterns, Marimekko’s products are strong and visually striking, but they do not exclude delicacy or softness. Rather, Marimekko’s designs exist on a line between hard and soft, inspired by both urban elements and natural ones, and by tradition and modernity. Although founded over sixty years ago, Marimekko remains relevant, as it promotes a timeless quality. Fashion and design may have short-lived trends, but Marimekko encourages its designers to create textiles and products that endure, both physically and visually.
